Give a Smile

"Give a Smile": how RVC volunteers filled up the day of children in the hospital with light and games.

On the 10th Good Deeds Day, the team of the Republican Volunteer Center held an action, "Give a Smile" - an event, directed towards emotional support of children undergoing treatment at the V. Ignatenko Hospital.

The goal of the action is to make a warm and lively vibe and give kids a little bit of joy and light under uneasy circumstances. Together with volunteers, kids spent some time on creative workshops and active playful programs, which helped to distract them from a hospital's mundaneness and to feel like regular kids - free, playful, and joyful.

The activities were adapted to the age and kids' interests, and volunteers made a great effort to shower every child with attention, care, and personal involvement. A simple participation, a warm word, and a joint craft - all this became little steps towards the creation of a kind ambiance, which is very needed during the treatment.

We want to especially thank animators BUBURUZA MELA, whose energy, creativity, and genuine participation helped to fill the day with happiness and rich emotions.

The "Give a Smile" action reminded us one more time that volunteering isn't just help; it's also an emotional resource, which we can share. Especially with those who need it the most - with kids at a hospital, for whom every kind day could become a meaningful step towards recovery.
