Healthy Food Basket in August

On August 28th, there was yet another delivery of food sets for the elderly of Chisinau.

Healthy eating isn’t just about the produce; it’s about the quality of life for the elderly who especially need our help. That’s why we at RVC are holding the Healthy Food Basket project - regular deliveries of grocery sets and educational meetings with nutritionists who help make life more comfortable and calmer.

On August 28th, there was another delivery of produce boxes for the Chisinau elderly.

There were regular and healthy products in the baskets: pasta, buckwheat, peas, chickpeas, lentils, rice, and other cereals, oil, and canned goods. This time, we added the sets of herbal tea, which help to stabilize sleep and to reduce levels of stress and blood pressure.

Special thanks to our volunteers because it’s them who put in effort and time to collect and deliver boxes. For the elderly of the project, it isn’t just groceries; it’s a sign of attention and an opportunity to feel the support and care. Simultaneously, on this day, there was a lecture held by a nutritionist, Camilla. She told about the benefits of products from these sets, responded to the frequent questions about healthy eating habits, and explained in simple terms the role of proteins, fats, and carbs in an organism. Beneficiaries on the project noted that they began to feel more confident in the topic of eating and got the answers to questions that they were constantly putting away.

The Healthy Food Basket is about food, but more importantly, it’s about care and confidence. We want for the elderly to know they always have those near them who are ready to support them. And every one of these events reminds us that attention and participation make life warmer than any food.
