Hanukkah is a bright holiday for all people. It is critical to celebrate it in the circle of relatives and close friends.
That is why we invited our dear elderly people the participants of the “Origins of Mercy” project and celebrated Hanukkah Shabbat with them. We lit the fourth candle of hanukiyah and held a ceremony Kabbalat Shabbat.
After that volunteers told the guests about the Hanukkah Holiday and Hanukkah miracle and also read a parable about it. At the end of the day volunteers and elderly people decorated festive donuts with whipped cream and fruit. Everyone got beautiful and original donuts; it was a pleasure to eat them!
Thirty volunteers and thirty elderly members of community whom we also help within the “Origins of Mercy” project participated in Hanukkah celebration. We thank all who were with us on this bright holiday!
