The Volunteer Center RVC (the Republican Volunteer Center) will join the worldwide movement “Good Deeds Day” for the fourth time on April 14, 2019. The project brings together the residents of more than 100 countries of the world. Every year millions of people, thousands of organizations and companies around the world come together to help others for free.
In 2007, the first “Good Deeds Day” was organized by a businesswoman and philanthropist Shari Arison and non-profit organization רוח טובה, which is part of The Ted Arison Family Foundation, a philanthropic branch of the Arison Group.
The Good Deeds Day of Moldova was organized by the team of the Republican Volunteer Center, which managed to involve in the event more than 35 settlements of the country in 2018. In total, 147 volunteer events took place on this day, which were joined by more than 2,200 people with kind hearts open to help others.
Since its beginning in 2007, this annual tradition of good deeds has grown from 10,000 participants in Israel to 1 million worldwide by 2018. The project became international in 2011 and united people in 10 cities around the world, including those in the United States. In 2012 we reached Europe, and launched a six-week promotion in partnership with MTV Global on their websites and TV channels with an audience of 24 million people worldwide. In 2013, 16,000 volunteers from 50 countries participated in hundreds of projects, including events with the ABC Network in New York. And then the number of participants in the Good Deeds Day doubled in 2014.
